Final project for CRWR 208 – Introduction to Graphic Forms
A short 6 page comic with the aim to deliver a twist within its length. Even at the beginning stages of developing the script and thumbnails, I already knew I wanted this comic to be vibrant, with strong warm colours to give the implication of a lovely warm evening, only for the glow to be revealed as flames burning the mansion down, contrasting with the otherwise plain and civil conversation between the two characters.

Before working on the final inks, we workshopped our pencil version of the comic with small assigned groups. One piece of feedback that stood out to me was how the glow from the window being representative of both a sunset and fire seemed a bit unclear. This further highlighted the importance of the lighting to me, so I made sure to put extra care into ensuring the backdrop was appropriately lit with eye watching warm tones. I was complimented by my professor for my efforts, who mentioned that my comic caught his eye while he’d been browsing the submissions.
